The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1998 with an intake of 60 in B.Tech. The intake was increased to 90 in the year 2000 and 120 in the year 2004. The M.Tech program in VLSI System Design was introduced in 2005 with an intake of 18 and it was raised to 24 in 2014. The B.Tech. Program was accredited by NBA in 2006 and 2021.

The Department of ECE is best known for its talented and dedicated professionals renowned for their excellence in various specializations in the field of Electronics & Communication Engineering. The faculties have completed five consultancy research projects and one more project is ongoing. Faculties have patents and more than 125 research articles published in SCI/Scopus/peer-reviewed Journal and Conferences for the last 3 years. ECE Dept has received AICTE grand under MODROB, sponsored DST project of 46 Lacks and five consultancy projects of about 8.35 lacks. Granted seed money of Rs 275000/-for in house projects.

The Department is provided with state-of-the-art technological tools incorporated in all the existing laboratories. For the last twenty-five years, the students of ECE, who walked out of the portals of the institute successfully, holding their degrees, were immediately inducted into the MNCs of high reputation in India & abroad.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the Academic Year 1998-1999 with a sanctioned intake of 60. With its strenuous effort shown in academics and extra-curricular activities, the Department magnified gradual growth in its intake to 120 in the Academic Year 2007-2008. In its long haul, with a vision of providing finest Post Graduate Program, the Department introduced M.Tech in Electrical Power Systems with an intake of 18 in the Academic Year 2004-2005. To add jewel in the crown, the Department inaugurated IEEE students’ chapter in the Year 2017 and IEI students’ Chapter in the Year 2020 for promoting research attitude among the young aspirants. In the quality check of NBA, the Department has been accredited under Tier –I.

The department is unique in its own ways by promoting excellence in Electrical Engineering and fulfilling its role in the era of new millennium and meets the needs and demands of various industrial sectors. With the intent of instilling research approach among students, the department is heedful in Research & Development projects. In its augmentation, the department involves in collaborative research with industries. Coupled with its gradual proliferation, the department has signed MoUs with leading Industries.  The Department has established Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy Sources for carrying out advanced research.

With determined hope and optimism, the department has dedicated and well qualified faculty members who manifested to be specialized in Power Systems, Power Electronics, Electrical Drives and Control, Control System, Electrical Machines, Renewable Energy, etc. The curriculum is developed in such a way to meet the industry requirements from time to time, also in synchronization with AICTE model curriculum by covering the emerging areas like Renewable Energy Systems, Embedded System, Electric Hybrid Vehicle, Industrial Automation and Control, Artificial Intelligence etc. Besides, the students are replenished with advanced courses for enhancing their technical skills and programming abilities to get acquainted with new trends in technology and develop overall potential of the students in diversified aspects.

Civil Engineering department of JBIET started during Academic year 2006-07 with an annual intake of 60. The intake strength has been increased to 120 from the academic year 2013-14. The course is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. JBIET has been granted autonomous status during the academic year 2011-12 by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad and UGC Autonomous in the academic year 2014-15.

The M.Tech Structural Engineering program was introduced in the academic year 2020-21. The program is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. M.Tech Structural Engineering program has an annual intake of 18.

The department consists of modern laboratories of Surveying, Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulic Machinery, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Concrete Technology, Transportation Engineering, GIS, CAD, and Geology. The department is headed by Dr. Aditya Kamineni.

Civil Engineering students of JBIET take active participation in various cultural and sports activities under the banner of ‘Civil Engineering Students Association’ within the college and in various colleges and Universities of Telangana. Also, the students have won some prize and brought accolades to the institution.

Civil Engineering is as old as the Pyramids of Egypt and is the basic branch of engineering which can provide basic infrastructure such as Buildings, Highways, Railways, Airports, Dams, Bridges and Hydro power plants to any developing country. Development of infrastructure with environmental concern is considered as a measure of progress of any country. Civil Engineering deals with the Analysis, Design, Quality control, Construction, Operational and Maintenance aspects of both natural and artificially built structures.

Established in the academic year 1998-99 with an intake of 60 for the Bachelor course in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) the department manifests its pace of progression in its present state with an increased intake of 180. In view of the accentuated interest towards CSE and its immensity of growth the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has developed nine well appointed laboratories where the main focus is on the development of logical reasoning that is stressed upon, in all practical applications. Studded by talented productive teaching professionals, the department boasts of promoting a unique mode of teaching-learning setting; one that makes an effective utilization of the advanced aids of teaching. The students of this department win the acclaim of the department for realizing the expectations of the institute by grabbing lucrative positions in some of the top notch software/hardware organizations in India like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Sierra Atlantic, MAQ Software, Cognizant and HCL. Many others of them obtain admissions in the reputed American/ UK/Australian Universities for Higher Courses in M.S. and Ph.D, with scholarships. The department is making its strides of progress with the zenith motto of preparing professionals of high competence needed for the industry. The department provides a high end computer system with facilities to work on various platforms under the tutelage of well trained faculty.

The Department offers a four year UG degree course, Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and a two-year PG degree course, M. Tech in CAD / CAM. The course of B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering was started in 1998-99 with an intake of 60. Subsequently the intake increased to 120 in the year 2007-08. The M. Tech. in Industrial Engineering & Management (IEM) was started in the year 2004-05 with an intake of 18.  Keeping the industry needs in view, IEM was replaced by CAD/ CAM in 2009. So far, 18 batches of UG and 11 batches of PG have successfully completed their course. We proudly announce that many students of our department have established and emerged as successful entrepreneurs. The department is well established with excellent laboratory facilities. Further, we have well qualified competent faculty with a blend of industry and academic experience supported by senior technical staff. The Board of Studies of the Mechanical engineering department considers inputs from members from Industry and academia to design curriculum to equip the students industry ready. The Department mainly concentrates to impart high Quality Technical & Professional education with rich research culture to cater present day needs.

Almost all branches of industry have been affected by the ongoing transformation through its algorithms.

Machine Learning explores the analysis and construction of algorithms that can learn from and make predictions on data. ML has proven valuable because it can solve problems at a speed and scale that cannot be duplicated by the human mind alone. With massive amounts of computational ability behind a single task or multiple specific tasks, machines can be trained to identify patterns in and relationships between input data and automate routine processes.

The AI & ML has opened up exciting new opportunities for interdisciplinary work across many fields including computer science, mathematics, statistics, and information science from which it draws foundational knowledge and the current demand for a career in AI & ML is considerable and growing daily.
